Don’t watch too much French football, so was looking forward to seeing Lamine Camara with him being a name linked. Not going to lie, I’m not massively impressed - granted I’m only going off 45 minutes of football, but he’s giving off Naby Keita vibes. Don’t think he’s better than what we have.

16 Jun 2026 21:34:19
Olise is fantastic.

16 Jun 2026 21:35:05
Don't really know what's worse, the game itself or the sh**e commentary by Shearer et al.

Agree2

16 Jun 2026 21:43:56
Maybe buy Sunderland's Diarra, who's replaced Camara, looks better after a few minutes than Camara did in first 70 mins.

Barcola just came on and scored a great goal! Blistering pace and a confident finish.

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 22:19:17
McG, playing as a #10, was amazing.

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 20:46:22
Krepin Diatta looks good for Senegal.

16 Jun 2026 21:44:58
80 mins, and think Mendy is playing very well, better second keeper than Marma?

Agree0

{Ed025's Note - you spoke too son Mcgoveb.. :)

16 Jun 2026 20:28:15
Spurs agree €60m deal for Van Hecke. Getting Schlotterbeck in for €50-€55m will go down as great business. Really hope we get it done.

16 Jun 2026 20:21:39
What’s everyone’s thoughts on the transfer window? Looks like we have money to spend, but after last summer the funds aren’t endless. In terms of potentials:

Palestra/Kayode
Diomande/Rayan
Barcola or someone like Bowen/Summerville

Is it better to go for Premier League experience?

16 Jun 2026 21:44:59
We've got plenty of money, we've been very frugal under FSG. Prior to last season, our average net spend per year was £30m over 15 years.

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 21:46:27
Iraola coming in, and the World Cup logistics look like they'll slow things up a bit, so we may have to be patient. There's money there to replace Salah with a big buy and a right back, but after that it's looking like it'll depend to some extent on who leaves and fees raised.

Agree0

17 Jun 2026 04:04:16
You sound like you've just made that up @Overkill.

Agree2

16 Jun 2026 19:48:42
Anyone else surprised that we haven’t been linked at all with Tonali? Always rated him at Newcastle, is his gambling history a red line issue or would people rate him highly enough to risk it?

16 Jun 2026 20:15:44
Personally I think he's exactly what we need. 🤞 We enter the race for him.

Agree4

16 Jun 2026 20:31:10
Odds on he doesn't join us.

Agree6

16 Jun 2026 20:40:45
I wouldn't bet on it.

Agree6

16 Jun 2026 21:15:39
Doesn't pass the dickhead test, maybe? Does he have a question mark over him after the ban?

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 21:46:34
He's top class. Controls games very well. I'd love him instead of Mac.

Agree2

16 Jun 2026 21:47:03
I like him, would be a big improvement on MacAllister, expensive though, I imagine Newcastle would want something in the region of 100m. Personally wouldn't want to do business with them again after the Isak mess.

Agree2

16 Jun 2026 21:51:37
He's a class player, great energy in midfield! I would be very surprised if Spurs had a free shot at him when Liverpool, Utd and Arsenal
are all looking to strengthen in that position. Tonali, Grav and Szob in midfield would be a great combination.

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 22:27:41
Silly money, although he's a good player when fit. Looks like Spurs are spending big.

Agree0

16 Jun 2026 19:19:29
Well Trent's fall from one of the best right backs in the world is complete.
Another right back injured and again he is ignored by Tuchel.
Surely his England career is over unless he makes major changes to his game and attitude or there is a change of manager.
Who would have thought it would have come to this 2 years ago.

{Ed001's Note - that is nothing to do with it. Tommy Tuchel is banging Trent's ex and they fell out over it, he will not pick Trent unless absolutely forced to at gun point.}

16 Jun 2026 20:35:30
That picture was proven debunked, and a different female to what was accused. Deary me, I can't believe an editor actually wrote that. That's absolutely false.

Agree11

{Ed001's Note - what picture? No idea what you are on about. Apart from the obvious chance to be a prick, why don't you try explaining yourself, instead of just being an arse, as usual.}

16 Jun 2026 21:05:54
Not many players have won the Ballon d'Or whilst being unable to make it into their nation's WC squad.

Agree4

16 Jun 2026 20:14:21
Wow Ed it would seem she likes the German Bratwurst then.

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 20:15:17
Is Trent a Rooney in disguise or is Tommy Tichel a dirty old man?

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 21:23:12
That whole Tuchel banging Trent's ex nonsense was a complete piss take perpetuated by an AI photo somebody posted on Twitter after Tuchel left Trent out of the squad. Clearly the woman in the photo is Tuchel's real girlfriend with photoshopped hair.

Agree4

{Ed001's Note - ok, I don't have twatter, never seen that.}

16 Jun 2026 21:31:58
I can say I don't give a s*** about Trent or if he plays for English ever again.

Agree4

17 Jun 2026 04:09:41
No need for apologies. Just make stuff up and defame people's character.

Agree1

17 Jun 2026 04:48:59
Naah, there is no other reason. He is banging Trent's ex and he can't see Trent in the eye, that fella.
Absolutely no reason to leave Trent out of the team. May not start him, but a player of Trent's calibre not even being called is questionable.

But, yea, that's what you get. You cheat on your boyhood club and life cheats on you.

Hello Ed001

I hope you're well mate. Do you think we will be quiet regarding signing until the World Cup is over?

What signing do you honestly see us getting over the line.

There is lots of speculation on here with mostly the same names mentioned. You have been spot on whenever I've asked in the past.

In- order of preference 1 2 3?

Please

{Ed001's Note - I really don't know as it will depend on Iraola. I would think there will only be work done on the priority positions - replacements for Salah and VVD and a right-back - until he has had time to take a good look at the squad. They can be done during the WC, so I don't see that stopping it, teams go out early for starters, so even if they are putting off things to concentrate on it, they will be available for talks then.

I expect and want Diomande. Palestra seems most likely right-back, though I like Kayode. Schlotterbeck seems to be VVD's replacement. I would be ok with that, as I have not seen enough to judge him one way or the other.}

16 Jun 2026 19:55:47
My personal view is that it's going to be very time limited. Jetting the squad together and formed into what AR wants is going to extreamly tight. Players will be coming back very late. Then off on pre season. We are seeing players still being transferred Madrid and even Spurs are announcing deals.

I honestly thought the major part of the work would have been done on most targets. They maybe keeping it under wraps? Like you say there are some desperately needed positions. I'm concerned we will struggle to get what we want. A quiet January has not helped.
Thank Edd.

Agree1

{Ed001's Note - you stress too much, Iraola is an excellent coach, why piss money away just because you are panicking over a player coming in a bit late. It will be fine. If you are worried about what Madrid and Spurs are doing, then I fear for you because both of those clubs are run absolutely desperately badly.}

16 Jun 2026 20:27:54
The team was built to run, it must still have a bit of that DNA. I'm not overly bothered.

Ed025 we need your banter to lighten the mood her mate.
Few questions for ya:

- where do ya see Liverpool finishing next season
- where do ya see Everton finishing
- who is your ideal signings for the blue side
- who would you like to see as manager

{Ed025's Note - i think Liverpool will finish in the top 3 EIRE but the recruitment will decide how high i expect mate, Everton will finish roughly where they finished this one around 13th, we are desperate for a Right Back and a Striker and a few more players but im not holding my breath, i would personally take MrBean over Moyes and he is the main problem for me, he plays to not lose rather than win and we play a lot of hoofball which is not very easy on the eye, if you pinned me down for a name i would think Fabian Hurzeler would be a good shout..

16 Jun 2026 18:48:58
Would you fancy Eddie Howe Ed if it went pear shaped for him at Newcastle?
Looks a good fit imo & he'll bring a better brand of football?

Agree1

{Ed025's Note - yeah BR i would take him all day mate...and hes an Evertonian as well..

16 Jun 2026 19:27:31
Getting pinned down is a fantasy of mine as well Ed shame I haven't found a lass who's up to the task (yet)

Agree2

{Ed025's Note - good luck with your search MB..

16 Jun 2026 23:08:20
I'm 41 and optimistic Ed throw in a bit of delusion as well

Agree0

{Ed025's Note - im 68 and an Evertonian MB...i feel your pain mate.. :)

16 Jun 2026 17:51:54
Hi Ed's. What do you see happening to Stefan Bajcetic? Didn't realise that he's still only 21. Do you think he will get a fair go under Iraola? Or do you think he will head out on loan again. It seems like we've had him for years. I personally would like for him to be given an opportunity.
Thanks for all your work guys!

{Ed001's Note - I expect Iraola to have a look at him and then a decision will be made. His fitness means it is probably not going to be possible to send him out on loan until January, as they will want to monitor him closely. It would make a loan difficult.}

16 Jun 2026 18:01:59
Thanks for the reply. What's wrong with his fitness? Think I have missed something. Seen some videos of him a couple of days ago doing some training.

Agree2

{Ed001's Note - he is coming back from a long term injury, his fitness will be nowhere near the levels it needs to be. It can take a good year to really get back to anything like full fitness, if ever.}

16 Jun 2026 19:10:52
Eds1 you say it will take a good year does that mean he's just tyred

Agree15

{Ed001's Note - that made me groan.}

16 Jun 2026 20:00:05
Superb.

Agree2

16 Jun 2026 20:47:09
It takes time, Acered, when he's tyred, no Kwikfix.

Agree1

16 Jun 2026 23:23:40
Jesus! Wheely wheely bad....

Agree0

17 Jun 2026 00:18:28
Bajcetic has let himself down.
Maybe he couldn't handle the pressure, but he's been taking the psi.
