I would really appreciate ITK can share their perspective to this. What is the current club's stance on filling RW now that Diomande saga is over? Are we going to trust a newcomer like Morisson, or do we have any backup options? Maybe loaning someone like Ibrahim Diaz for a season might be an option. How is the feeling internally?

Is the saga over?

Can't remember which one, but one of them said we're now looking into Rayan.

Ed have we shown any interest in Scott or Bowen? Both would fill a big hole, leaving us a cb/rb slot to fill. My preference would be to go all out on Kayode.

There is interest in Scott, but he doesn't really fill any holes we have unless players leave.}

There is interest in Macca from Spain both Madrid clubs. If sold, expect moves to be made for Wharton. I'm told another midfielder is likely regardless of if Jones and Macca stay, it just wouldn't be Wharton if that was the case.

Gakpo is available at the right price, interest from Bayern is long standing.

Spurs are also interested. If he goes, interest in Rayan will be ramped up.

I've got no names currently but a CB who plays RB is a priority outside of the Barcola deal. It's likely that is the next deal after Barcola is wrapped up.

Thefields, that sounds like great business if we pull it off. Tell me Camara is the other midfielder, and Kounde is the RB/CB. 👀

26 Jul 2026 22:24:46
Thanks, Fields. Your updates are very much appreciated !!

Thanks, Fields.

Thanks for the update, hugely appreciated.

Camara changed agents recently, that's why Newcastle went for Bamba.

Monaco expects around 40-50 M EUR for Camara. Several PL clubs interested, wait and see.

An interesting RB/CB could be Guela Doue from Strasbourg, Desire's brother. PSG is also keeping an eye on him.

Great update, Fields, cheers.

1

26 Jul 2026 22:40:37
All sounds like good stuff to me. Thanks for the update.

3

26 Jul 2026 22:48:02
Cheers, Thefields.

Selling Macca makes a lot of sense given the contract length and the need to make a bit of room.

Any thoughts on Endo? He's occupying a valuable HG spot.

2

26 Jul 2026 23:06:41
Macca would be a perfect fit for Athletico. Would love Wharton at Liverpool.

26 Jul 2026 23:12:59
Such basic answer but I'm happy to keep both.

I think each has another level available and AI will get that.

Proper wounded to see JG down last night.

On the flipside, think Rio has matured a lot and the kids at the back looked really promising.

Len out.

I said about Mac Allister 2 days ago, and was told it was click bait......

Thanks for the update, TheFields. Much appreciated.

2

26 Jul 2026 23:32:13
DjimiT, not one single person called it clickbait.

5

26 Jul 2026 23:33:33
That's great info, TheFields. Thank you.

26 Jul 2026 23:37:29
Cheers Lad. 👍

26 Jul 2026 23:38:19
Thanks, TheFields. Sounds like the powers that be are seeing the same gaps that the fans see, which is encouraging.

DjimiT, stick the dummy back in, son, the bawling is distracting the adults.

27 Jul 2026 05:00:25
Djimi also said Barcola was going to Arsenal, but I'll be honest, I thought everyone would
leave Diomande alone due to his reprobate of an agency firm.

27 Jul 2026 05:22:40
FlyPelicanFly, I remember hearing Endo a couple of seasons ago say he's not interested in leaving. He said he would see out his contract.

He knows his career is winding down and he probably won't get nearly the same salary somewhere else.

After yesterday's game, I wonder if we even need Wharton. Nyoni was on fire. He has the same type of profile.

He's what we need, someone who can find Wirtz with a pass.

2

26 Jul 2026 22:01:58
Any truth in the Mamadashvili loan rumours I wonder?
Pretty sure it's absolutely not true unless he wants constant first team football throughout the season.
Can't afford to let him go as Ali's Hammy will have gone at least once by Xmas.

2

26 Jul 2026 22:28:37
Woodman is better suited to a possession dominant side, in my opinion, and he's very much a 3rd keeper at Prem level. Mama is just too poor with his distribution to play for a team that plays out from the back. He's probably a better shot stopper than Woodman but you just can't have a keeper nowadays so horrifically one footed, and even that 'good' foot is only fit for smashing it long and high upfield.

I hope that Jaros gets a chance when he's fit again. He looks very good. No idea when he's due back, though, and Davies/Misciur are unconvincing even at youth level. So if Mama leaves, we will need to sign a new no.2.

10

26 Jul 2026 22:40:05
I'd like to see Marma given a chance under Iraola as he could potentially help him improve his distribution as a year under Slot and his coaches would do no one any good, give him a season to try to learn and develop and if he fails to give him the boot next season as he will have had a fair crack at it.

I wish we had of 2 seasons ago went and got Unai Simon to be our number 1 as he is a fantastic shot stopper and passer of the ball but would have been tough to get him to leave Spain.

I do though highly rate Freddie and would not be disappointed with him being the back up for a season if Marma was to go out on loan.

4

26 Jul 2026 22:47:50
Mama's distribution at his feet is awful. He appears panicked, lost who to pass it to, often short, putting pressure straight onto our defensive line.

Bazza.

1

26 Jul 2026 22:50:15
If it's possible to recoup on Marmar, I would do it. He doesn't seem to be very good at anything really.

3

26 Jul 2026 23:15:58
It's mad innit. FW looks like a lad u can count on.

GM looks freaking terrified. He's a good keeper tho. I don't like the whole buying a player and leaving him at his club for a year. It looked the same to me with Naby Keita. Like anticipating the move became a lot.

2

26 Jul 2026 23:30:01
Mama just seems to be the wrong profile to follow Becker.

Another mistake by Richard Hughes or whoever scouted him, on the back of doing well playing for Georgia.

Does Mama want to play second fiddle to Ali? Is the bigger question.

If the answer is no, then let him go, after all Woodman has just signed a 3 year deal, and is more suited to playing the sweeper keeper role.

I hope Pesci has a productive loan spell, and comes back ready to challenge for the number 1 spot.

2

27 Jul 2026 01:20:40
@MK, wouldn't every goalkeeper in the world be better if he played in a team that dominated possession? (In the spirit of a banter page 😉).

2

27 Jul 2026 06:51:01
Makes no sense with the amount of time our 2nd gk seems to get each season!!

Personally, I am a fan of Woodman and would be happy with him as back up, but most would disagree. We would still need more cover regardless.

Evening gents,

French media (Le Parisien and others) now confirms that Maghnes Akliouche has been approached by Liverpool. Just like I told you yesterday.

Quick reminder, AS Monaco expects around 50M€ but PSG is also there having agreed personal terms with the player. Scuro, the sporting director, wants a bidding war between the two clubs with the expectation of selling Akliouche for around 70M€, the amount City refused to pay for him last summer.

Not linked to Barcola, Akliouche plays LW or CAM as he is left-footed.

Personal opinion: I hope and pray we don’t sign him, we can use that money more wisely but maybe I’m wrong.

Cheers,

Red Ronson.

26 Jul 2026 22:06:52
Is he what we're looking for though? He's not a winger, is he, he likes coming central, does he not? We need hard working pacy wingers. I just don't think he's what we need.

3

26 Jul 2026 22:16:26
Akliouche plays RW not LW.

6

26 Jul 2026 22:30:22
Yes, typing error. Akliouche plays RW, not LW.

1

27 Jul 2026 00:07:07
More of a playmaker that plays wide. Seems the wrong profile for the type of wingers Iraola likes to use.

1

26 Jul 2026 21:16:14
Been trying to find out if rumours are true about PSG teenager Ibrahim Mbaye. Nothing yet. Has anyone else heard anything?

2

26 Jul 2026 22:02:58
Hope it's false. Don't want him here, his entourage is a mess. Romain Molina just put out an expose on how his family tried to extort his agents.

1

26 Jul 2026 20:18:19
Reds,

Diomande done to Real Madrid.

Like I said in June we will not be signing him.

Been told Barcola bid happening soon.

18

26 Jul 2026 20:46:00
So does this mean Olise won't be going to Real Madrid?

Does it strengthen PSG's chances of getting Olise?

Just good for thought.

Grizz, the absolute blagger from Twitter?

13

26 Jul 2026 21:24:28
I have read before on here that it is not Grizz from X, Grizz from X also confirmed it is not him, guess it's someone else, but so far he has got the Diomande deal right.

Carry on posting, Grizz, lad, we appreciate your posts.

9

26 Jul 2026 21:31:17
PSG come out with some scathing remarks about the way the transfer has been handled and games played by agents. Delighted PSG have come out publicly and called out the shenanigans! Credit to those posters on here who highlighted the issues well before it ever hit the media and likes of Romano.

9

26 Jul 2026 21:36:18
Yeah it's the same one from Twitter, he puts his bets on one way but never truly says where they're gonna go etc. No one ever mentioned Madrid and they were stupid enough to pay those rates, fair play to them.

But yes, this is the same Grizz.

4

26 Jul 2026 21:42:18
RM signing Diomande reduces the chances of PSG letting go of Barcola.

1

26 Jul 2026 21:50:20
Any centre half's incoming with Gomez being made of biscuits? Only fit centre half we have is Van Dijk and he's not due back for a week.

1

26 Jul 2026 21:38:33
People were posting well before this guy was about both Yan and Barcola. He has brought nothing new to the table.
I don't believe for one minute that this isn't the guy from X.
If he wants to be taken seriously, he should change the name.
I hate that guy from X with a passion.

Neff

26 Jul 2026 21:56:10
This is @Grizz from Twitter. And he hedges his bets and knows as much as I do (Clearly f*** all from the ones I've got wrong based on info I was told), so take what he says with a huge pinch of salt.

That said, lovely to hear from you and read your posts, Grizz, and everybody has a right to post without fear or favour.

4

26 Jul 2026 23:29:25
Spion Kop1 comment blowing smoke up Grizz ar*e, is Grizz's 2nd account. Have a look on banter page.

27 Jul 2026 05:04:36
It's more about those accounts wanting to feel legitimate, they try their hardest like Indy. But in reality, like me and the rest of them, we know sweet FA. We just like to gossip, but nothing close to the club.

Hi all,

Seeing as the Barcola news has made rapid developments in the last 24 hours - I figured I should add more context as to why confidence has now nearly developed into certainty.

Following several meetings with our recruitment team and in particular, Andoni Iraola, Barcola through intermediaries made it as clear as possible to PSG that he wants the move to Liverpool. We have sold him on the project a while back and further talks with the manager has reinforced this position. As far as the finances go, that is no issue.

While the media is stating PSG have only now opened the doors to a sale, that is untrue. The understanding from all who have approached the Parisian side in the last few months is that a sale is and has been absolutely possible.

Liverpool began the groundwork for this before Slot departed.

When Arsenal approached Barcola’s camp in recent weeks, advances were rebuffed. The player has not been sold on the project, as it currently stands. Liverpool also hold the upper hand, financially.

On top of all this, Luis Enrique has no desire to keep the player in the PSG side. The Spaniard has a reputation for exiling players who are not fully committed to his projects. This coupled with Barcola not wanting to sign a new deal formulates a perfect storm that allows us to go for our dream target. That is where my confidence comes from.

26 Jul 2026 20:41:17
VG, thanks for this. Hugely appreciate your insight. Do you or anyone else know what's happening with our midfield and defence?

3

26 Jul 2026 20:49:50
Thanks VG.

1

26 Jul 2026 20:55:14
Out of curiosity, what the project he's sold on?

4

26 Jul 2026 21:14:12
The non set piece dependent one, dbav.

11

26 Jul 2026 21:23:37
The one where we actually have a crack at playing free flowing, attacking football, I hope.

6

26 Jul 2026 21:25:50
Thanks VG!
Dbav, I assume it just means football philosophy and how the coach/manager sees the player fit within their setup.

3

26 Jul 2026 21:30:01
Dbav, well I'd imagine it's that he is being brought in as a star player, and reassurances of games every week for a quality team who want to challenge for league and European titles.

3

26 Jul 2026 22:11:08
Hope I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling about Barcola.

2

26 Jul 2026 23:09:53
Did we sell him on a project that was dependent on Slot leaving?

0

27 Jul 2026 00:13:21
I think he'll be excellent for us.

0

27 Jul 2026 01:54:01
Thanks VG. I would really appreciate if you can respond to this. What is the current clubs stance on filling RW now that diomande saga is over? Are we going to trust newcomer like morisson maybe? How is the feeling internally?

0

26 Jul 2026 19:18:23
Reds,

Barcola valuation will drop, while PSG mentioned €170m.
I believe we are looking for a fee similar to Rogers fee.

It is a lot of money but the market has changed.

5

26 Jul 2026 21:10:20
The way these prices keep increasing, Bezos is going rock up on a white horse like Galahad, maybe it's time we went with the Billionaire money.

0

26 Jul 2026 21:26:07
Because the more money we have, the more money our owners have, the more money we can spend, eh, @Snoots?

2

26 Jul 2026 21:40:21
Regardless of how the transfer market shapes up with regards to pricing, I'd never want Bezos anywhere near the club.
I would hope S.O.S and other supporters clubs would be in contact with the club to voice the same concerns.

3

27 Jul 2026 00:58:18
Surely less than 170m, I get the market is high, but that is mad!
