Inbeta, we're not going for a proper 6. We have Grav, and the club is confident in him as they just handed him a 280k 6yr deal a couple months ago. If we're moving for a midfielder, it will be somebody to replace Macca.

All the wingers we're linked with are capable on both wings, something Iraola is a fan of. We are looking at RB's. I doubt we'll move for a LB until next season. Edwards resigned 2 weeks ago, mate.

Yeah, his head was turned by the Spanish press. His injuries didn't help (as well as many poor team performances) therefore it's time and a good move for both. We need some grit and crunch in that midfield as teams can steamroll us.

Interesting gossip, I have a couple of friends in Germany who supply us with lab gear, they go to Munich games and they're devastated, apparently Luis Diaz js off. All these £100m+ valuations are mostly for EPL teams. I doubt very much Bayern would pay any more than £60-70m for Gakpo.

The fact he is rumoured to be so interested in signing for us is a massive plus.

Barcola has superb speed, dribbling, pretty good passing and decision making for a winger. His finishing is a bit hit and miss but I can deal with that. Hopefully improves with maturity.

The concern is always his pressing, defensive work and hunger to influence the game more and get on the ball as a main man. Sometimes I think he sits on the edges of a game.

However, I often think buying a player whose weaknesses are a coach's strengths is not a bad idea if player is willing to learn.

Barcola would train every day to be aggressive and press. He is nowhere near as nonchalant as Vini in his defending so I see hope for him to adapt. If he does adapt that side of his game and marries it with what he already does really well, then we could have some player on our hands. I'd be hopeful on this one for sure.

If Gakpo does leave as mentioned, then we'll need another attacker as we'll be no better from a squad depth position unless Iraola sees something in Chiesa that Slot didn't.

Rio is nowhere near the answer. He is one of the most overhyped and overrated players I've seen. He slows the play down so much while he does his 20 stepovers. But the full back is still between him and the goal.

Unless he learns to run in behind, or beat his man, or improve his end product, he won't make it at Liverpool. I'm not saying he can't improve, but he will have to. Competition with Barcola might help him do that.

Hi again all,

Fabrice Hawkins, major source in France, says that no club to club discussions occurring between PSG and LFC at this moment. PSG wants around 170M€ for the player, we will not offer that but probably the Rogers and Anderson transfers destroyed the market…

In other news, somehow related to LFC, it appears that according to some Spanish sources that Diomande to Real Madrid is a done deal.

I'm not being smart, I support LFC 40 years and can really, if I'm honest, only remember two league wins, and two CL's! For the other 36 years I've enjoyed winning the odd cup or just enjoyed watching us as we won nothing at all.

I would in a heartbeat rather win nothing but introduce young Abe the way we did with Rio last year than spend EUR170m on Bradley Barcola. I love the club, Wudnt agree at all with spending anything near that on him.

The price tag of Barcola and young players getting the chance to play for the first team are not mutually exclusive.

On the contrary, having a world class player around them helps their development. If you saw the game yesterday, notice how Szoboszlai elevated the youngsters around him, instilling the belief to play with freedom and showcase their natural ability.

Hi all,

Not typically one to brag but I'd like to make this post regardless.

Before the season came to a close, I was adamant that we would sign Barcola and dished out the information as and when I received it. While the majority of comments I receive are kind, there has been some ignorant no gooders. As Ned was previously getting at - it's exhausting. Being in a position to give out information can be compromising and it's not a given that "ITK" contribute.

Barcola will be a Liverpool player and developments in the last 24 hours have made me absolutely certain about that. I imagine the fee will be in or around 100-105m pound.

Thank you all who have been kind in following along and to those who have believed me from the start.

My information from people involved at the club is that talks are advancing quickly for Barcola and the player is 100% convinced. ITK Space is correct in the fact that 100 million +20 mil in add-ons will get the deal done.

I am adamant, as I have multiple sources telling me that we are planning a double swoop with Rayan but Bournemouth's asking prices are a touch too high. Also the interest in Djed Spence and Pedro Neto is genuine.
