Love a good "out of the blue" signing. Great stuff. Sometimes the ITKs get us excited and nothing happens. Or nothing happens quick enough for us on here. Not that I don't always appreciate the info. Keep it coming lads.

Fabinho was the last best out for the blue signing. He worked out well.

Don't forget Gakpo, Jim, I think he was the last one I didn't see coming.

18 Jun 2026 12:14:32
Mostly agree, Zed, but there were tentative links with Gakpo in the summer and January, if memory serves. It just always seemed like Yanited were in the driver's seat.

I had not even heard of this guy before yesterday, although I'm happy to see he has a bit of pace about him.

18 Jun 2026 12:15:34
True enough.

2

18 Jun 2026 12:25:04
Indeed, Zed. And before Gakpo, I think it was Jota, RIP.

18 Jun 2026 14:50:29
Jaquet.

can any Eds or ITKs confirm we have agreed a buyback clause with Madrid that is valid for 2027?
seems very strange.

0

18 Jun 2026 10:52:14
We have not, that clause is void once he is sold to someone else!

3

18 Jun 2026 11:24:41
As I understand it, the clause was with Osasuna.

Given that they have sold him to us before the clause became active, the quid pro quo is that they have to give RM 50% of the sale price - EUR20m.

However, they only paid RM EUR5m, so good business all round.

Morning Eds,

I appreciate there must of been loads of Munoz's posts requesting to go live last night.

I noticed that my last draft regarding Munoz was deleted so apologies if I typed something inappropriate and or repetitive!?

The Munoz deal like Fabinho and Jota are old skool only read about them when they are done deals! Proves there is still value to be had!

If this is the last draft post you read from me it's been fun to contribute to this site in a small way!

YNWA and take care folks!

18 Jun 2026 10:28:02
I literally have no idea who this player is but I am sure I will be well and truly briefed on him on this forum.

5

18 Jun 2026 09:34:12
So the ITK’s were all sleeping at the wheel…. Gets the stocks ready!

Anyway else getting Nabil El Zhar, Antonio Nunez, Oussama Assaidi vibes?

3

18 Jun 2026 10:45:01
Not really, no, none of those players were in the best National team squad in the world at 22!

11

18 Jun 2026 12:37:16
@Casey, no.

4

18 Jun 2026 09:33:53
With the Munoz signing, I can see Gakpo will now leave for a decent fee and another big wage off the books!

7

18 Jun 2026 11:28:41
Agree with you there, BeKind.

Wouldn't be surprised to see another purchase too, up front.

If we want to get the strength in depth, we need fluid options.

Next year, we will definitely have Rio, Munoz, Isak, Ekitike and (hopefully) Diomande. No Ekitike until at least Jan 27, imho.

Can Elliot fit into an Iraola front 3? Will Wirtz play more off the left or as a false 9? Has Iraola got high hopes for Koumas or Wright?

So, I could see another forward, not sure if it will be Barcola or someone from left field? Could Bowen be an option for 2-3 years whilst younger talents develop?

2

18 Jun 2026 11:51:09
We'll be needing a striker if he does go though. Gakpo out, Darwin in? Surely not?!

1

18 Jun 2026 13:38:10
Hopefully more of the kids can make the jump to the first team.

Chewy, I would take a decent fee for Gakpo and a free Nunez. Think that would be good business and leaves cash to spend elsewhere too.

I’m sure we’ve all scrambled to watch the YouTube clips of Munoz.
Hope I’m not cursing it but I’m getting Jarod Bowen vibes when watching clips of him. Must be decent to be in a strong Spanish squad, he’s young and the price is relatively low in this market and suspect wages will be reasonable too.

On to Diomande, Bouaddi next and then sort a centre back, right back and possibly second centre mid if any of ours move on.
Ps. I love Harvey but suggestions of him playing in a wide position I struggle with. I also wonder if under Iraola he’s got the physical attributes required.

3

18 Jun 2026 09:24:06
Never seen him play, unlikely to watch any highlights of him or claim to have watched him but very excited to see him in an LFC shirt next season (if he does sign).

1

18 Jun 2026 10:00:58
What's wrong with Bowen vibes? I agree fully by the way, he looks very similar to Bowen in terms of how he plays (but with more pace). I just don't see why you have an issue with that. Bowen is a fantastic player and if he was 8 years younger I'd be hoping we signed him!

11

18 Jun 2026 10:19:26
I read the post as Bowen vibes being a positive not a negative. 😊

I agree either way. He looks like he's some kind of mix of Bowen/Jota and also weirdly Ben Doak who I think someone else mentioned earlier.

6

18 Jun 2026 10:26:57
I haven't seen him play, but I do like a signing that comes under the radar.

Can't wait for our very own Victor to give me his very own analysis to see if he's any good or not. 😜👍

18 Jun 2026 10:30:14
Has anyone really seen this kid play? If they have, then please, I would like to be enlightened a lot more than just YouTube clips.

1

18 Jun 2026 10:47:10
I read the Bowen vibes as positive as well. He would be some player for us if he is like Bowen.

4

18 Jun 2026 11:59:02
That's good.

2

18 Jun 2026 12:33:28
Mk, I meant he reminds me of Bowen, and I meant that as a positive. Apologies if the way I write the above came across as a negative.

3

18 Jun 2026 14:03:32
LTV, what are you apologising for?

2

18 Jun 2026 20:14:15
Causing confusion in the way I wrote it, I guess. However, having read it back, I think Mk has misread it based on how the rest of the post is written. So maybe he should apologise. Joking btw!

18 Jun 2026 08:50:32
Ed I know its still early days but does Iraola have any say at this point on who we sign?

This one seems very bournemouth/Iraola coded and I'm all for it.

5

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - this was the type of signing Hughes was brought in to make mate, this is not about Iraola as such, though it is very suited to his football.}

10

18 Jun 2026 09:05:56
Morning Ed hope you well. Would you say they've been given a little kick up the backside to get things right? or would you say this is just a one off for him? time will tell i suppose. Cheers

2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - it is more a case of Edwards not interfering and wanting to make signings to prove he was right and not Klopp ie Isak. Hughes was brought in to make the under the radar signings, not big money ones. Anyone can look at the best players in a competition and go get them but the skill of an SD is in finding the ones who will be the better players when they are developed.}

12

18 Jun 2026 09:52:45
Much appreciated. Let's hope he has faith going forward in his team and lets everyone do the job they were hired to do and stops interfering.

2

18 Jun 2026 09:36:37
Well said ED001,
Indeed Munoz fits the LFC profile of prospects with higher ceilings and I see a resemblance to Gordon here as we have looked at a profile that can play across the front three.
This will be the versatile player who can push to be a starter and also be a good backup for several positions.
I guess Barcola and Diomande signings could also accelerate or are already close to completion given the approach of LFC sealing deals early to give AI an opportunity to integrate them before season opening.

A potential RB starter will be good for the team and a Wijnaldum/Fabinho hybrid who can play multiple positions midfield will be essential for the new system.
I always look forward to your post ED001
YNWA, hope you are enjoying the World Cup games

2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - thank you mate. I am not watching the World Cup as you have to pay an extra subscription here. I don't like international footie anyway, so I am not going to pay 100 quid just to watch something I don't enjoy.}

9

18 Jun 2026 10:49:42
Too bad ed001, the 1990 world cup was the reason i fell in love in football and after the season we just had, its fun watching some good football here and there, I espcially enjoy the small countries and see how much it means to their fans!

3

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - I used to enjoy it but it lost its interest to me a few years back. I tend to use international breaks now as a rest from football as I watch so much of it for the sites I tend to just need to switch off for a while.}

5

18 Jun 2026 11:27:11
You could always just watch a stream ed, that's if you're at all interested in watching the WC in the first place that is, it's been pretty enjoyable to watch so far in my opinion!

4

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - I am not bothered. It is so difficult time wise and I don't like international footie any more. It has fallen so far off the levels of the club game in recent years.}

4

18 Jun 2026 12:43:57
I enjoyed the Ghana v Panama match - open and free flowing, and reffed very well, with anybody playing for a free kick, by and large, ignored by the ref. Good to see players trying to win the ball from corners too, rather than the PL all-in wrestling. Good entertainment for the neutral.

18 Jun 2026 16:53:37
Makes a lot of sense, thanks for the reply.

1

18 Jun 2026 08:29:50
Starting to realise when the media mouthpieces tell us something, the opposite usually happens. 1/2 days ago we get told we'll be waiting until after the WC to make signings....
Starting to think maybe they don't know anything, it's just guesswork, or they're getting fed a line.

4

18 Jun 2026 08:29:31
Ed1, I don't know if someone already asked you this. But have you seen Victor Munoz played before? Seen a lot of La Liga fans saying that Osasuna is one of the team that play fast attacking football, and he is one of the main main in the side. So suits Iraola playing style I would assume.

2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - no mate, not had time to watch any La Liga last season.}

2

18 Jun 2026 08:54:34
You reckoned that we will bring Diomande in and that would be it for the forward positions? And then we will be focusing on other positions.

2

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - and?}

1

18 Jun 2026 09:23:22
I mean that we bring in Munoz as the forward that can cover all three attacking positions, and Diomande as the main Salah replacement. There is talk about how we were still interested in Barcola even after we signed Munoz. I just think that it's either Diomande + Munoz or Barcola + Munoz.

I just can't see us spending a lot of money on 3 attackers while we still need to address the defense, especially RB and midfield/defensive midfielder.

I remembered weeks back you mentioned that we were interested in Kounde somehow. Is that still the case?

2

18 Jun 2026 12:52:32
We have lost Salah. Looks like we might lose Gakpo and/or Chiesa, and Hugo is out until Christmas (according to L'Equipe), potentially four attackers down on last season. We've brought in Munoz, looks like we might be bringing Diomande in, but that still leaves us 2 players light up top, not forgetting that Isak has been known to pick up the odd injury along the way.

I think Barcola may still be on the cards and perhaps one other - ideally a CF who doesn't know the offside rule, couldn't score in a brothel and causes chaos wherever he plays.

3

18 Jun 2026 13:27:36
Yeah, that rumour just doesn't seem to be going away, despite denials, WDWIV.

Maybe in memory of our very own Crazy Horse, who I was too young to see play, but really enjoyed on QoS, we should bring Darwin back and christen him our very own Loco Burro?
